Shoulder Problems - Our Specialty
Dr. Michael Ackerman sees a wide variety of health issues in our San Diego, CA chiropractic office, and one particular area he specializes in is problems concerning the shoulder. We see tremendous success with shoulder conditions ranging from simple rotator cuff strains all the way to "frozen shoulder". It may be hard to believe, but 9 out of 10 patients usually leave the office after their first visit with no pain! Of course, it may take a little time to achieve a permanent relief from pain and return to a normal daily activity or sports participation, but most people are amazed at the effectiveness of the methods Dr. Ackerman uses to alleviate a wide variety of shoulder conditons.
"Frozen Shoulder" occurs in varying degrees, and generally consists of three stages:
The freezing stage which is when the pain sets in and motion starts to become limited,
The frozen stage as the shoulder becomes stiffer and harder to move, and
The thawing stage which is when the pain and stiffness begin to lessen.
While medications and injections are a common medical treatment, Dr. Michael Ackerman finds that much of the time chiropractic can be a better alternative, avoiding surgery or the potential dangerous side effects of steroid injections. The scientific literature confirms that a non-invasive approach can work.
As reported in multiple research studies, chiropractic treatment has been found to totally alleviate frozen shoulder symptoms for some people, offering a complete recovery from the pain and stiffness that come with this particular condition. In others, people with frozen shoulder have reported significant relief, ranging from 50 to 90 percent improvement.

"I have seen countless chiropractors, bodyworkers, and healers of all stripes over the past twenty years, and Dr Ackerman comes with my highest recommendation. I was in incredible pain in my left shoulder, essentially incapacitated. I went to see Dr Ackerman, and in ONE 1-hour session the pain was gone. It is now almost a week later, and the pain has not come back. And unlike many chiropractors who seem to want to rope you in to see them more and more, Dr Ackerman's response was: if you aren't in pain any longer, than as far as I'm concerned you don't need to come back. That's integrity and true caring. My highest recommendation..." Gregory D., Life Coach, Escondido, CA
